Collins Lake Ranch Driving Directions
You can use the map below to get directions from your address. Look for signs for Collins Lake Ranch once you turn off the highway and follow signs to the camp ground parking (do not drive into the lake!).

Directions from Las Vegas to Collins Lake Ranch (about 45 min):

  1. Take Hwy 518 North from Vegas to Mora (approx. 30 miles)
  2. Travel through Mora, about 2 miles north is the Cleveland Post Office.
  3. A quarter mile north of the post office turn left, off hwy 518, at the volunteer fire station (there is a sign on Hwy 518 pointing left).
  4. After left turn onto dirt road, the road forks.
  5. Take right fork onto dirt road (B019 – there is a Collins Lake Ranch sign pointing right) and follow the curving dirt road up and around the hill for 0.75 miles.
  6. Gate into the Ranch is the first on the left – a sign at the entrance declares “Collins Lake Ranch”, come through the gate and you’ll be looking at the lake.
  7. Keep the lake on your left as you follow the dirt road; about a half mile up the valley, at the flag pole, keep right for the camp ground. You will see a Mountain Friend Camp sign and parking directions.

Directions from Taos or Penasco to Collins Lake Ranch (about 50 min to an hour):

  1. Take Hwy 518 South towards Mora
  2. Follow 518, going past Sipapu ski basin (20 miles to the turn for the Ranch)
  3. As you come into the valley, stay on 518 for 5 more miles, pass Teresa’s Tamales on the left look for the green sign that says “Cleveland”, followed by a sign pointing right saying Collins Lake Ranch.
  4. Take the next right at the volunteer fire station.
    If you see the Cleveland bar you’ve gone 1 mile too far.
  5. After right turn onto dirt, the road forks. Go Right.
  6. Take right fork onto dirt road (B019– there is a sign pointing right) and follow the curving dirt road up and around the hill for 0.75 miles.
