First Stop: Front Range!

We said our goodbyes to Logan Utah on Friday and (mostly) enjoyed a beautiful drive to Denver. On saturday Judy and Eric-our co-clerk and treasurer, hosted a great dinner with our other MFC committee co-clerk Valerie Ireland and her family.

On our first Sunday Ana and Ariel decided to divide and conquer, as Ana traveled
to Boulder Meeting and Ariel appeared at Mountain View. Mountain View was having its monthly potluck, so after a hearty (and delicious!) lunch, Ariel was fortified enough to present a slideshow about Mountain Friends Camp. Assisted by MFC Tresurer Eric Wright, Ariel shared slides with photographs and enthusiastic quotations from campers, parents, and staff with a group of about 20 Mountain View Friends. The slideshow also contained vital information about camp this summer, the queries from IMYM, and how to support MFC! If you’re interested in seeing it for yourself, it’s available here. After the presentation, Ariel and Eric opened up the conversation for questions and comments about camp, and Ariel got the chance to speak with a new camper for this summer! All in all, it was a productive and exciting afternoon event.

Meanwhile, in Boulder, Ana joined the meeting for worship and stayed afterwards to talk to a few f/Friends about camp. She enjoyed a warm welcome by Boulder Friends, thank  took the opportunity to catch up with a camper from last year and his family, and to work out some final logistics for the presentation at Boulder meeting house the next night.

On Monday, March 26 Ana and Ariel gave a presentation at Boulder Meeting House. Many thanks to Eileen for lending us a projector and screen, and to camper Tynan and his family for their hard work arranging the use of the building, publicizing the event, and providing pizza! It was camper Quetzal’s birthday, so the event opened with a song and cake for all! Ana gave the presentation this time, and she was assisted by Ariel, Tynan, Quetzal, and Eric. About twenty people were in attendance at the event, including two potential new campers and their families and two possible junior counselors.

Thanks to everyone who has supported us so far, whether through smiles and hugs, arranging a presentation, signing up for camp and giving a donation to make Mountain Friends Camp possible!
